Tanzania: Exim unveils a new campaign on the culture of savings

EXIM Bank Tanzania yesterday announced the winners of its mega promotion dubbed “Weka MkwanjaTukutoe” aimed at encouraging a “culture of savings” including rewarding its customers with various prizes.

The bank’s head of retail, Andrew Lyimo, told Dar es Salaam that the prizes included cash for six monthly winners and a large Toyota Vanguard car.

The final draw, like previous monthly ones, was conducted electronically under the guidance and supervision of the Gaming Board of Tanzania and in front of various invited media.

As part of the three-month campaign promotion, existing and new customers of the bank, who made a deposit from 500,000/- and above, entered the raffle to win 1 million/ – monthly prizes for 6 winners and a final prize of the Toyota Vanguard car.

The promotion was aimed at both individual customers and small and medium-sized businesses, where a total of 18 customers won 1m/- each and one took home a Toyota Rav 4 Vanguard.

Among the winners was the institution Work of Mary (Focolare Movement Tanzania) from Iringa who won the grand prize from Toyota Vanguard.

The others were Didas Patrick Moshi, SN Partners Architects Limited, Amirali Hassanali Alarakhia / Tahir Amir Alarakhia, Fatna Saleh Tambwe, Stewart Emmanuel Kinunda and Peter Tulizo Sewa, all left with 1m/- each.

The campaign helps realize the intention of boosting the culture of savings among the Tanzanian public,” he said.

He added that the promotion not only encourages customers to save with the bank responsibly, but also emphasizes saving their earnings in a safe place, i.e. in a bank and in return rewarded significantly for their efforts.
