Dubai: The Pakistan Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai has begun showcasing an exquisite display from the culturally rich province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).

In January, visitors to the Pakistani pavilion will be able to learn about tourism and investment opportunities in KPK. Throughout January 2022, the Khyber region will showcase its prowess in various sectors such as tourism, agriculture, mining and minerals, special economic zones (SEZs), energy, infrastructure and services. information technology and its huge investment potential in the mentioned sectors. sectors.

Each month dedicated to a province

The Pakistan Pavilion dedicates each month to promoting culture, heritage, tourism and business opportunities for a particular province in the country. The first month of the Expo — October — was dedicated to Balochistan while Punjab and Sindh were promoted in November and December respectively.

The opening ceremony of the KPP month was held earlier this week and the exhibition was inaugurated by Afzal Mahmood, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates, in the presence of dignitaries from the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Board of Investment & Trade (KP-BOIT) and Culture. & Tourism Authority (KPCTA).

Global platform

Speaking at the ceremony, Afzal Mahmood said, “Expo 2020 Dubai is a global platform for Pakistan to showcase the advancement of the country and its regions while maintaining its vibrant culture. This allowed Pakistan to present an in-depth view of all that the country has to offer. »

cottage industries

Cottage industries such as timber clusters, textiles, leather, gemstones/gems, and the carpet industry play a major role in Khyber’s trade. “The idea behind this exhibition is to stimulate industry and attract investment to foster the development of small and medium enterprises. These industries are deeply embedded in our culture and have stood the test of time. and technological developments, small businesses have also grown and have huge investment potential,” commented Hassan Daud Butt, Managing Director of KP-Board of Investment & Trade.

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken significant steps to make the business environment conducive to investors in order to raise the standard of living of the people and increase employment in the region.

Earlier, Mohammed Zubair Khan, Chairman of the Pakthoun Business and Welfare Organization also hosted a reception for government officials and businessmen attending KPK Month at the Pakistan Pavilion in Dubai. Officials informed the Pakistani expatriate community in the UAE and invited them to invest in the province, particularly in the tourism and energy sectors.
